To be eligible for undergraduate admission at the University of New Mexico (UNM), applicants must meet specific academic requirements. A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory, along with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Prospective students must complete the college-preparatory curriculum, including four units of English, three units of math (Algebra I and higher), two units of laboratory science, and two units of social science.
Standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) are optional for most programs. International students must demonstrate English proficiency via TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent. Transfer students need a minimum 2.0 GPA from accredited institutions.
