South East Technological University (SETU) is a relatively new institution, established in 2022 through the merger of Waterford Institute of Technology and Institute of Technology Carlow. As a result, it does not yet feature prominently in global university rankings like QS or THE.
However, its predecessor institutions were ranked among the top 20 in Ireland. SETU focuses on applied learning and industry collaboration, with strengths in STEM, business, and humanities.
