South East Technological University (SETU), formed by the merger of Waterford Institute of Technology and Carlow Institute of Technology, is a relatively new institution. As of 2023, it does not feature in major global university rankings like QS World University Rankings or Times Higher Education. However, its predecessor, Waterford Institute of Technology, was ranked among the top 10 institutions in Ireland.
