Once securing a job, graduates must obtain a work permit. The type depends on salary and qualifications: L permit (short-term), B permit (initial residency), or G permit (cross-border commuters). Highly skilled workers may qualify for a B or C permit, leading to permanent residency.
Switzerland also offers a Swiss-European Mobility Programme for EU/EFTA graduates, easing work permit requirements under bilateral agreements.
