The University of Pennsylvania’s admission process is highly selective and holistic. Applicants must submit the Common Application or Coalition Application, along with a personal essay, Penn-specific supplemental essays, and high school transcripts.
Standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) are currently optional due to COVID-19 policies. Letters of recommendation from teachers and a school counselor are required. Extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and personal achievements are also evaluated.
Interviews are offered but not mandatory. Deadlines vary for Early Decision (November 1) and Regular Decision (January 5). Financial aid applications must be submitted concurrently for need-based consideration.
